College Core FAQ's
What is the College Core Program?
The College Core program is an accelerated program designed for the working adult. Students will start with general education class in their chosen major; Business Administration, Accounting, Christian Ministries, Elementary Education, Applied or Liberal Studies.
When are classes held?
Classes are offered entirely online.
Is the Accelerated College Core program on a semester schedule?
Yes. Typically each semester consists of three 5-week sessions or two 7/8 week sessions.
I cannot attend the first session, is it possible to start anytime during the semester?
Yes. A student can begin general education courses at the beginning of any session.
How many credits do I need to enter the College Core program?
A student can begin with zero credits.
How many credits do I need to graduate from NNU?
A minimum of 124 credits.
What is the typical length of a course?
Generally, a course lasts 5 weeks, a few courses are also delivered in 7or 8 weeks due to content.
Can I apply for financial aid and what is the FAFSA?
Yes, a student can apply for federal assistance online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students also need to visit the NNU Financial Aid Page.
Do you offer any scholarships?
The program is already competitively priced. Tuition does NOT includes books, materials, and fees.
Acceptance will be determined when the above are met AND the individual has:
An overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all previous academic course work. (Individuals with a GPA of less than 2.0 may apply for provisional acceptance for one semester.)
